Abstract

The major complication of any form of spinal surgery is neurological insult which can result in serious post-operative sensory or motor deficit. Intraoperative neuromonitoring has evolved to identify and help to avert these insults through real time assessment of the spinal cord function. This paper is to provide an outline of the major modalities utilised in Intraoperative neuromonitoring during spine surgery, how they help in identifying neurological insults and aid in reducing post operative deficits, all explained through a case report.
